Sagastrand Hotel and Resort

One Saturday morning when we spontaneously booked an overnight stay in Sagastrand Hotel and Restaurant and when we arrived, the whole place did not fail us!
You get to enjoy the whole house all to yourselves, dip in the saltwater pool while enjoying a scenic view of the city across, and a peaceful staycation with hospitable staff.

The resort opened in summer of 2011. It has a 75 metre beach near a mangrove forest. It does not have a crystal clear water, so may opt to swim in their pool which is perfect for kids and adults (has portion that is 7-8ft deep). A restaurant at the pool side offers a variety of Filipino cuisine and international dishes. The resort also offers different water activities, such as diving and a island hopping tour. If you wish to visit the Olango Wildlife Sanctuary, it is just 20 minutes away.

How to get there?

The resort is located in Bas Daku, Barangay San Vicente, Olango Island. Ride a banca from the port beside Movenpick Hotel and Resort going to Sta. Rosa Wharf. Ticket fare costs Php 15 per head. From Sta. Ana Wharf, tricycles are just available there to take you to your designation. We paid Php 120 for the one way tricycle ride going o the resort.

You may rent a room, an apartment or the whole house. For us, we decided to rent a house which costs around Php 8,900 per night. The house has 4 air conditioned rooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen with complete utensils, a living room, dining area, a bar inside, and a veranda. Plus no corkage fee. Yup! You heard it right. Isn't it worth it? Such a perfect place for family R&R! :)

Imagine sunset view with the city as its back drop. Perfect!

Pastel skies + palm trees is such an adorable combo.
