Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort, Samal Island

When visiting Davao City, it is always given that a visit to Samal Island is a must. Visited Davao for three or four times already but I've been to Samal only once. To be specific, I stayed overnight at Isla Reta which is not located in Samal proper. That was indeed a great experience still.

As I have mentioned, Samal Island is usually the first trip destination if you seek for adventures and if you want to stay away from the urban life. This time, we decided to try Villa Amparo Garden Beach Resort as suggested by a good friend of mine.

The elegant resort features the following:
The man-made boardwalk, bar & restaurant, an islet in the middle, snacks and refreshments kiosk, Japanese garden, view deck (which is my favorite), boat dock, the Pavillion, videoke area, outdoor fun station, spa, grilling  area, fishing area, water sports facilities, and a Camp Site.

They have designated smoking area. You are not allowed to smoke inside and nearby their rooms because each has a smoke detector.

One of my favorite spots - the Deck. It is so relaxing to hear the sound of the waves, feel the fresh air, and see the beauty that surrounds you.

The way to the swimming area. Probably one of the things that didn't meet my expectations was the beach water. I was expecting for a crystal clear water but the resort's water was not as pristine as the beaches of other resorts.

Presenting to you the cottages nearby the swimming area.

Non-airconditioned closed native cottage

Air conditioned closed room

Our room! We stayed at Deluxe 1 - an air conditioned closed room with cable TV, one twin bed, one solo bed, hot shower and toiletries. This room is good for 2-3 pax.

Our relaxing view during breakfast. You may pre-order your meals and they serve them from 9AM-10PM. Check out their scrumptious yet affordable menu.

Take a look on their rates below. Check-In time for overnight stay is 2 PM and Check-Out time is 12 PM the following day. Day Tour is also available from 6 AM to 5 PM. By the way, the place has a bad signal and there's no wifi connection, so it's really the perfect place for relaxation and for some quality time.

How to get there?

The resort is located at Sitio Dasag, Barangay Camudmud. It is easily accessible by either private of public transportation. For us, we were on a motorcycle on our whole roadtrip in Samal. We paid only 100 pesos roundtrip for the fare. From Davao City, go to Sasa Wharf and take a ferry boat that goes directly to Babak Wharf.  There are different schedules for the ferry boat from 5AM-11PM. Upon your arrival in Babak Wharf, there are a lot of habal-habal or tricycles that could take you to the resort in 15 minutes time.

Thank you, Love for being the best all around-buddy!!

Until next time, Samal Island. Would love to have more adventures in your beautiful land!

In my previous post, I have shared about Classio Wood Fired Oven. This time, I would like to share our video from Villa Amparo and Classio. Don't forget to watch in HD. Thanks!
