Street Food: A Culmination of Cebuano Food Culture

Street food gives us a better insight into one of the most integral aspect of culture - people's eating habits. It is able to provide us a glimpse into a culture's territory and tradition.

When you visit an unfamiliar place, you familiarize yourself with that location through their food - and most of the time, the locale's true character lies in their street food. The history of local delicacies tells the story of the place's actual history.

Street Food is another concept by Sugbo Mercado Food Group in which it is a gathering of local street food culture. They promote and curate institutional street food vendors from Cebu and culminating them in strategic and accessible venues around the city to showcase the food and culture by taking the Cebuanos and tourists in a food journey.

Their objectives

- To provide a venue in where we culminate street food from Cebu and all over the world
- To make it accessible by putting up venues in key locations all over the city
- To cater to the Cebuanos, local, and foreign tourists
- To curate and elevate street food and its vendors

With more than 15 stalls, here are some of the local street food you can buy at Street Food by Sugbo.

A bouquet of ginabot, anyone? How about a dozen of ngohiong?

The famous Tuslob Buwa is here, too!

Have you tried Lamaw? It is a rice bowl topped with egg and siomai. It was my first time and it's so good!

One of my personal favorites! The OG street food!
